I recently used CCleaner and Comodo's Registry Cleaner to clean my registry and now I have problems opening folders. I made the mistake of using this type of software without really understanding how to use them properly. Here's my problem - Every time I attempt to open Internet Explorer, My Documents folder, My Pictures folder, My Music folder, My Computer, Control Panel, etc. the Windows Installer pops up. The message on the Windows Installer is
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." After I attempt to close the window several times it eventually disappears and the folder I want opens up. I'm using Windows XP Media Edition. (Service Pack 3) When this first started happening I attempted to restore my registry from the backups that had been made by both programs but the restore process didn't work correctly. This is a separate issue I'm working on directly with the software venders. I then downloaded and installed Windows Install Cleanup. If solving my issue involves removing one or more items on the list in this utility I don't know which ones. I've checked my other programs and they open without any problems. The main issue is tied to IE and the opening of the folders I've previously listed. Where do I go from here?
