Ok. so XP decides to stop working. Because I'm terrible at explaining things, I made a handydandy video, viewable here>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fvsyCaZ2h4&fmt=18
I did eventually get a fedora livedisk to boot, so you can ignore that whole span of fail with ubuntu.

It hangs at MUP.SYS at safemode.
So, I googled around and found this >> http://www.computing.net/answers/win...pro/97354.html

I followed the instructions and unplugged my mouse (and keyboard) and in a few seconds it started to load.

Then, instead of loading, it gave me a BSOD stating (exact copy):

or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Now what? It sounds like my OS might be corrupt, but I really wouldn't know. Other sites suggest disabling my graphics drivers in the recovery console.
