I was having issues with my Acer 2480. I decided to do a fresh install of Windows XP Pro. The OS for the Acer was originally XP Home.
After the install, when prompted to set up user names, I discovered that my track pad and keyboard did not work. I was able to attach a USB mouse, and that worked. I can't say the same for the USB keyboard I connected. Any ideas? I have tried to do the install more than once, and each time, I had the same result.
I just wanted to add that I have done this many times to my computers as well as for friends, and have never had this happen before.
