Hi,
I was online yesterday when I opened a new website from a link - it seemed to be a legit website (just a site on a local village) but, as soon as I opened it, my window kept repeating itself. I had several windows minimised but the one that was maximised just kept repeating itself over and over - 22 times! I couldn't close them. The only way to stop it was to forcibly shut down, which of course led to a whole system check when I re-booted. It was a nightmare as I was in the middle of research for a university asignment and lost all the windows I'd opened.
The same thing has just happened again - I had yahoo open and the inbox window repeated itself over 20 times before I forced the computer to shut down. I tried turning off my wireless broadband first but I still couldn't close the windows. I think the window that repeated yesterday may also have been my inbox but I can't remember for sure.
I'm using Windows XP on an Acer Aspire. I've got Kaspersky internet security 2009 but I find it impossible to navigate as it seems to be designed for someone more IT literate than me! I have basic IT training (powerpoint, word, etc) but have no idea how to tackle something like this. I'm desperate as I am trying to write a university assignment and am too scared to go online and do research in case it crashes again!
I would appreciate any help available please.
Many thanks!
Charley
