Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so thanks in advance for any help.

Upon opening internet explorer it immediately closes and displays nothing. Also Internet options in control panel will reset every time I restart windows.

The biggest problem is that windows firewall tells me "For your security, some settings are controlled by group policy." This computer is stand alone Home pc with windows Xp Home!

It would not allow me to install SP2 either so I downloaded it on another PC and installed it succesfully.:up:

I was able to install IE7 and that cured the IE not starting.:up:

I cannot start Windows firewall or Windows Update (Automatic update).

I cannot edit the registry either as it states "Administrator has disabled this funtion"

I am administrator and there is only 1 user !

Any Help would be appreciated.

Pentium 4 2.4Ghz
767Mb RAM
120Gb Hard dirve
Windows XP Home SP2
