The power blinked while I was loading music onto my Sony Walkman and for some reason I started getting a partition corrupted or no operating system installed. I next tried to reinstall Windows with the original (and I stress, there is not a scratch anywhere on the 8 dang discs I have to use to do this. I have took good care of these) OEM discs. After about 9 hrs, Windows will boot up but my CPU stays at 100% and is REALLY slow. It also doesn't recognize the memory card slots or any of the USB Ports (2 are built into the board, the rest plug into the MoBo for a total 0f 6). Both My Computer and the BIOS report the processor as a 2.20 GHz AMD Athlon x64 processor (which is normal) and both also recognize the RAM. The USB drivers are installed in Device Manager and reports as the device is working correctly. It takes this thing 15 minutes to boot up and sits on a black screen the whole time. Then it jumps to the black Windows screen, then the two blue screens. Taskmanager reports the svchost.exe and explorer.exe as the two biggest resource hogs, but I've looked at this and they look normal. I get no percentage for usuage in tskmngr, everything reports as using 0% for the CPU.
I have racked my brain with this. I changed the Rom in case it was reading wrong (was bad three weeks after I bought new, and Comcrap wouldn't replace the pc or unit), replaced the hard drive but I ran into the same problem so I reinstalled the original), have changed both cables to the Rom/Hard Drive, popped out the 3 memory sticks and the MoBo battery which I left out for a couple minutes (don't know if that is long enough) to clear the Cmos settings. I have also reinstalled Windoze XP (SP 1) 6 times trying to fix this. Someone PLEASE help.
