good day all,
Previously my computer was crashing randomly and showing signs of disk failure, e.g. can't detect o/s, or can't even detect HDD in bios. But it happen so randomly that when it didn't happen i could run full manufacturer's disk tests and they would complete successfully. There were no other signs of hdd failure apart from crashing suddenly and then giving problems for a while. Sometimes switching SATA ports would solve the problem even though i'm not sure why, perhaps it didn't, just that coincidentally it decided to work again.
So i concluded it was a motherboard side problem and since my computer was about 4 years old i upgraded most of it
I replaced the motherboard cpu ram and even harddisk. (just to be safe) So i've kept the sound card graphic card and PSU. DVD drive doesn't matter cos i've disconnected it already. After about 2 months the problems started coming back again.
This time when it hangs in windows i can move the cursor 'cept it shows an hour glass icon that never goes away plus all applications stop responding . When I reboot , sometimes it'll hang at the Graphic card ver. info display (bfore the usual Bios) , sometimes it'll hang at detecting HDD, and as usual sometimes failure to load O/S. Same fixes, praying, waiting and sometimes switching SATA ports.
Anyone know what could be the problem? PSU? guess there are only so many parts left to change.
