Hi,
I am running XP pro on my Dell D610 Laptop.
The laptop has a built in modem, from device manager it is listed as a 'Conexant D110 MDC V.92 Modem'
Opening its properties I get 'This device is working properly', its enabled and lists itself as COM3 in the modem tab.
I have never used the modem but now have some software that needs a modem. However when I boot my software it lists COM1 (the ****** port on the back) as the only available ****** port to use.
I guess I am asking, why is COM3 not showing up ? Or more generally what is the easiest way to test my modem or get a list of available COM ports ?
Cheers
