My computer crashed the other day - most likely a
virus. It powers up very slowly and locks up frequently. Nothing fixed it
so I pulled my files off and prepared to restore the operating system. It
wouldn't read my restore disc. I then tried to restore by opening the disc
but it told me that the administer would not allow me to do this (probably
the virus). I tried installing several other XP discs I had but none of
them worked, or I didn't have a key code for them (is there a universal code out there somewhere?). I have a backup internal drive on the computer but if I pull the cord on the main drive it just tells me it can't find an operating system.
It looks like I have tens of thousands of registry items, so this is probably how the virus attacked.
Thank you for your help!
