A virus attack has left me with a major problem.
My Dell computer seems to bootup with Windows XP OK but before it gets to the user profile screen it freezes up and an error message pops up
saying "Userinit Logon Application has encountered
problem and needs to close." Error info says Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78A2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
If I try to get into "safe mode" the same thing happens or sometimes it says instead “windows search protocol host has encountered a problem and needed to close”
I have two children utterly distraught that they cannot get online and also very nervous because they haven’t backed up all of their photos, music, schoolwork etc. Any help gratefully received. I have a Dell Recovery CD,
