i ran a number of anti-virus, spyware and malware programs on my HP Pavilion laptop. i deleted all threats found, without reading into them. i noticed there were spywares attached to windows files but i deleted them anyway.upon restarting my computer, i was greeted with a sad experience: i could not log in to windows. if i were to click on the user profile, it would start logging in but after a few SECONDS, it would automatically log off.
i have read into this problem and found some of those that have the same problem as i do. they were given the advice to repair install windows. i tried doing that but STUPID me, i have forgotten my administration password, thus, i cannot perform the installation.
a friend of mine lent me a NERO BACK IT UP cd, which i tried using. it works well on the first two DVDs that it backs up on but on the third, a back up error appears. i have done this twice, and twice did i have the exact same problem.
i cannot part with the files on my computer. i have had the same laptop for three years - three years of memories, reports, write ups, etc.
i hope someone could give me an idea of what i could do. is there a different software with the same mode of action as the Nero back it up software - but one which can detect or save into my external hard drive? because nero cannot back up into it even if it can detect it.
please help. i have approx 56gb of memory to back up, 33gb when compressed.
thank you.
