I had a drag-and-drop incident and accidentally copied my Desktop folder onto "My Documents". My computer paused for a long time, but did not show any "Copying..." window. After a while I tried to escape, and then I tried to kill the explorer process, but it wouldn't die, and I eventually ended up rebooting via the Task Explorer window.
Anyway, when I rebooted, the desktop was "back to normal" and the folder was in the correct place. But now, when I try to copy files from anywhere on the c: drive to another drive (USB key or other physical drive) I get "System cannot find the file specified." I'm able to copy TO the c: drive, just not FROM it. Thanks in advance!
I performed a system restore immediately after the drag-and-drop incident to the previous day when everything was working, and I run several virus scanners and spyware/malware detectors.
Any thoughts?
